A flower against the shutter of a house in Talmont, interesting colours.
Snail on a post in the vineyard; these snails have all disappeared from my garden, but they're all there in the vineyard, up the posts and the plant stems (tiges). The soil (terre) is very dry and they climb up to be in a cool breeze!

ONE FLOWER, ONE TREE
By carolweb on Friday, November 5 2010,
Original? No? I've just put the photo in a CHALLENGE on redbubble - I needed one flower with a hand or part of a hand. I should have drawn (j'aurais dû dessiner) eyes and a mouth on my finger, that would have been funny (ç'aurait été drôle).
Look at the autumn colour of this tree in my garden - you can see why its name is liquidamber (pronounced liquidambarre in french qui ne veut rien dire!).

CHALLENGE ENTRIES
By carolweb on Friday, September 24 2010,
Making up for lost time (rattrappant le temps perdu), I put five photos in challenges today! I wonder (je me demande) if I'll be featured (choisie).
This one in "EXTERIOR STAIRS NOT ATTACHED TO A BUILDING" in the Which Way (quel chemin) group. I took it last week in Montmartre of course.
This one in "ONE SINGLE FLOWER IN A VASE" in the Single Flower group; a tiny (minuscule) wild flower in a tiny glass. It is a greater celandine (une chélidoine/herbe aux verrues): if you break the stem (la tige) it has thick yellow juice which is supposed to cure (guerir) warts.
This one in the "SMALL BOATS" in the Photography Challenge group. I took it in the Seudre estuary in Charente Maritime. To fish there is a small square net attached to the pole at the back (l'arrière) which is lowered in the water.
This one in the "LET'S HUNT FOR FALL COLOURS" in the Scavenger Hunt group. This is a liquidamber tree in my garden, it's beautiful.
This one in "EYE CONTACT - ANIMALS" in the Scavenger Hunt group. Look at this monkey's (singe) beautiful blue eyes!
They're all very different photos; the boat and the autumn leaves have already been ticked as (ont été coché déjà comme) favourites by other bubblers. Bravo me!

A FLOWER BEGINNING WITH "B"
By carolweb on Friday, September 10 2010,
Bindweed or convolvulus for the ONE SINGLE FLOWER group. I tried lots of photos of this flower and finally came up with this idea, I put it on the site in the group and immediately somebody ticked it (l'a cochée) as a favourite. I was so pleased.
This plant grows in my lawn (pelouse) and its flowers open in the sun, it can also climb (grimper).
Here it is climbing up the wheat stalks (tiges de blé).

SUNFLOWERS
By carolweb on Wednesday, July 14 2010,
There are lots of fields (des champs) like this near me at the moment; they're beautiful. Sunflowers are an incredible flower, they're so big and tall. Here they are used to produce oil for cooking.
What a pity they're not in the field next to my garden instead of THE MAIZE!

Peach flower
By carolweb on Friday, April 16 2010,
A little softness after all these hard angles and corners; it's a long time since I uploaded a flower, so here is a peach flower growing in my garden:
I have 6 peach trees, I hope the flowers will develop into peaches then in July I'll be able to make peach jam (confiture). Last year I made some and it was delicious; instead of writing "Peach Jam" on the label I wrote "Summer in a Jar", because that's what it looks and tastes like.

Today's macro
By carolweb on Monday, April 5 2010,
Yesterday it was my first ever macro, this is my latest, from my garden.
These are cherry flowers and the tree is covered with them. I hope there will be lots of cherries also so I can make lots of jam. I love cherry jam.
I also love clafoutis.
Here is the recipe:
Butter a dish, fill with cherries; mix 50g of flour with 100g of sugar, two eggs and 1/4 litre of milk; pour over the cherries; cut small pieces of butter on the top. Cook in the oven 180° for 25 minutes. Delicious with vanilla ice cream! Yummy.
But today I was busy because my family came for lunch, so I didn't just take photos of flowers.
The weather was beautiful and warm and my grandchildren enjoyed themselves in the garden.

My first macro
By carolweb on Sunday, April 4 2010,
This is an artichoke flower from my neighbour's garden. I was very lucky to get the photo, she usually eats them before they flower!
In 2006 I bought a digital camera which can take macro photos: a Samsung Digimax i6 and I'm really enjoying it. This was my first photo and I think it's beautiful, the colour is so vivid; it encouraged me to continue. I took a lot of photos in my garden.
29th September, this photo has been featured (choisie) in the "ONE SINGLE FLOWER GROUP"
I'm so pleased. It proves that I was on the right track (sur le bon chemin) from the start.
