THE TREE 3

The sunsets (coucher de soleil) behind the lollipop (sucette) tree are becoming more and more (de plus en plus) dramatic.

This one was more golden. I'm going to be a specialist on lollipop sunsets soon :) I must have 20 photos already (déjà), but I'll have to (je devrai) select the best ones and delete (supprimer) the others.
Just imagine: sunsets like these just outside my door! The sun sets nearly directly south at the moment; we have just started to regain 1 minute of sunshine a day and the sunset is going to move further and further west (de plus en plus vers l'ouest). So it will not be behind the lollipop and in fact, I won't be able to (je ne pourrai pas) see it at all (du tout), it will be hidden (il sera caché) behind the trees.

CHRISTMAS TREES

I've been making tiny trees with paper beads:

<Digimax i6 PMP, Samsung #11 PMP>

I find Christmas decorations extremely expensive this year, so I'm making my own (je les fais moi-même). t's a calm activity, keeps your hands busy (occupées) and doesn't stop you thinking or meditating. A fine activity for a rainy, cold day.

<Digimax i6 PMP, Samsung #11 PMP> Here's how to do it. You need some shiny paper all different colours, a pair of scissors, a wooden brochette or a toothpick (un cure-dents) and some glue. Cut your paper in long trangles,
<Digimax i6 PMP, Samsung #11 PMP> Roll the triangle up on the wooden stick and glue the end. <Digimax i6 PMP, Samsung #11 PMP> Make 8/10 rolls of different lengths and stick them on a piece of card to make a tree. You can make a hole in the top of the card and thread (enfiler) some string (ficelle) or thread (fil) to hang it up (pour le suspendre).

FIRST SALE - première vente!

Well, what a surprise this morning when I opened my mailbox: I have sold a photo as a card on the redbubble site. "Your work was so brilliant that someone showed their appreciation with their wallet" (portefeuille) it said. But it's not today that I'm rich: I earned (gagné) 0.21 euros!!
"The sale details:

Retail Price: US$1.67 (includes US$0.00 tax)
Manufacturing fee: US$1.40 (includes US$0.00 tax)
You'll receive: US$0.27 (converted to €0.21 at the current exchange rate of 1USD = 0.778EUR)"

Hard luck for me that the euro is so low (bas) against the dollar.

HERE IT IS on the site where I tell the story of the tree.
I love trees and this one particularly now. What luck! It's in my garden nearly opposite the front door, I can look at it every day. I think I'm going to put a label on it saying "My first photo sale"!

There was snow in the garden this morning when I opened the shutters, but none on THE tree. Pity it's an evergreen oak, so it won't lose its leaves (perdre ses feuilles), so I can't take different photos of it according to (selon) the seasons.

My horizon view, and the same kaki tree with little hats of snow.

JUST ONE TREE

I was invited to put a photo in a new group called ONE TREE AT A TIME with this photo

<Digimax i6 PMP, Samsung #11 PMP>

It's a persimmon tree (un plaqueminier) in my garden in the rain. I love it, it's a living Christmas tree covered with orange balls and they are delicious to eat. I now have another tree to put in the group

<Digimax i6 PMP, Samsung #11 PMP>

It looks like a hand with fingers in the sky, It's dramatic! It's not easy to photograph just one tree.

<Digimax i6 PMP, Samsung #11 PMP>

This big tree is in front of Sablonceaux Abbey in Charente Maritime. I don't know if this photo will be accepted in the group because you can see other trees in the background (l'arrière-plan). I'll see.
The abbey is only a 5 minutes' drive from my house.LOOK at this aerial photo of the abbey; I'll have to go round the back and take a photo of that enormous tree.
READ what Wikiipedia says (in french).

ONE FLOWER, ONE TREE

<Digimax i6 PMP, Samsung #11 PMP>

Original? No? I've just put the photo in a CHALLENGE on redbubble - I needed one flower with a hand or part of a hand. I should have drawn (j'aurais dû dessiner) eyes and a mouth on my finger, that would have been funny (ç'aurait été drôle).

Look at the autumn colour of this tree in my garden - you can see why its name is liquidamber (pronounced liquidambarre in french qui ne veut rien dire!).

Peach flower

A little softness after all these hard angles and corners; it's a long time since I uploaded a flower, so here is a peach flower growing in my garden:

<Digimax i6 PMP, Samsung #11 PMP>

I have 6 peach trees, I hope the flowers will develop into peaches then in July I'll be able to make peach jam (confiture). Last year I made some and it was delicious; instead of writing "Peach Jam" on the label I wrote "Summer in a Jar", because that's what it looks and tastes like.
