I saw these impressive dramatic black and white walls at the airport in Bordeaux, the low cost area.

STREET ART 4
By carolweb on Thursday, September 22 2011,
You can't believe these paintings are enormous on a wall, I'd love them in my house, along the corridor perhaps.

2 WALLS AND FLOWERS - murs et fleurs
By carolweb on Saturday, June 18 2011,
Plants that have escaped from the garden and that are now growing (poussent) in the crack between the wall and the road! Nature is strange.
I know what's wrong with the photo below - the wall has no texture. In the challenge I put it just next to another one nearly like it, but yellow. That yellow wall has texture and the photo is a lot better (bien meilleur) than mine.

THREE COMPLIMENTS
By carolweb on Friday, June 17 2011,
Wow, that was quick - as soon as I uploaded (téléchargé) my photo I got three comments with great compliments, they love it. Strange but I don't really like it, something is wrong (q'q'chose ne va pas) but I don't know what.
It was for the challenge 'A WALL AND A WINDOW'. Unfortunately a lot of the photos in the challenge are not following the theme: they are photos of a window and not a wall WITH a window. Well, at least 3 people love mine, I wonder if I'll win.
I've taken a photo nearly like this before, but the wall is PINK I like this one a lot more (beaucoup plus).

THREE FEATURES THE SAME DAY
By carolweb on Wednesday, November 24 2010,
Succes in redbubble this week: featured in three groups!!
PHOTOGRAPHY CHALLENGE water fountains, mine is in Paris. I like this one.
WHICH WAY group stairs with an angle. This one's in Montparnasse station in Paris also.
WALL OF THE WORLD in Paris too.
I didn't take many photos last time, the weather was grey and cold every day except one. We visited exhibitions and went to the theatre in the evening.

TWO WALLS FEATURED!
By carolweb on Friday, June 4 2010,
I'm having a run of success in the WALL OF THE WORLD group on redbubble. I have two photos featured on the same page!! I'm so proud again. Success here means other people think my photos are good, means encouragement to continue taking unusual photos. Here they are:
This was the wall of the Adidas shop on the Champs Elysées during the Roland Garros tennis tournament. It was high up (en haut) and I couldn't get near to see how it was made; pity.
This is a glass building with reflections, also in Paris. The reflections are fantastic, all different colours. Of course in Paris there are lots of different possibilities, but it's not easy, there are building works everywhere.

POPPIES on a wall - coquelicots sur un mur
By carolweb on Tuesday, June 1 2010,
Nature doesn't need any help in decorating - this is a living wall and it's much better than all the "murs végétals" which are so "à la mode" at the moment; the photo doesn't give it justice. It's the wall of the cemetary, on the outside (à l'extérieur) along the road. I wonder (je me demande) how many people see it as they're dashing past in their cars. (ils passent à toute vitesse). Well I did, I didn't pass, I stopped to take some photos.
Unfortunately (malheureusement) the flowers won't be there very long, but it's beautiful while it lasts (pendant que ça dure).

PINK WALL - CHALLENGE WIN
By carolweb on Sunday, May 30 2010,
I won a challenge on the REDBUBBLE SITE again!! I'm so proud of myself! (Je suis fière de moi). It was in the Colour me a Rainbow group-pink.
REMEMBER THIS PHOTO? I included it nearly at the beginning of my blog.Just look at this shocking pink colour and imagine a whole wall(un mur entier) like this! Two walls in fact. It didn't do any good for the furniture shop, because it closed. Shocking for the building but lovely for the photographer.
Today I entered the Green challenge with a photo I took near my house.
This is a close-up of wheat in the field (du blé dans le champ); I don't think it will win, it's not as good as (pas aussi bon que) the pink one.

Success - a win with a prize.
By carolweb on Saturday, April 17 2010,
Hooray again!
I'm having a run of success in the challenges on the redbubble site, how encouraging!
I won a challenge with a prize of a $20 voucher to spend on the site!
In the "Wall of the World" group I was voted the best out of 33 entries with my photo in the challenge "Wall with a person".
Here is my winning photo
It is a photo of a statue in Paris to commemorate the writer Marcel Aymé; it represents the main character in his short story "Passe Muraille" about the man who could pass through walls. You can read a shorter version of the story translated into English HERE. Enjoy it.
CLICK and look at the other photos in the challenge.
2 days ago another photo was voted in the Top Ten of the "Extreme Close-ups" group in the challenge "Lichens and mosses", here it is:
These are true colours, these lichens were growing on a tree trunk in my garden in Charente Maritime, France.

redbubble.com
By carolweb on Tuesday, April 6 2010,
In April 2009 I found, by chance on Internet, and joined the art site redbubble.com.
I love this site: there are hundreds of themed groups for all different subjects that organise challenges. I enjoy competing in the challenges and seeing other people's work. It's a site in English and most people come from America, Australia or South Africa, but there are people from all over the world.
It changed completely my photos, now I take abstract "art": blocks of colours, forms, everyday objects.
Click on 'my folio' link - en bas de page - and see my folio and look at the names of the groups I belong to.
One of the groups I belong to that I like very much is called "Wall of the world" (lien en bas de page) and is just for photos of walls! There are some fantastic unusual photos.
This is my latest wall photo. What do you think of it? :)) The title is "Bleeding wall" (Mur qui saigne".)
Or this one?
I'll show you some of my other photos another day.
