This was taken from the top of the Centre Pompidou coming out of the Matisse exhibition. I had bought a ticket on Internet but when we arrived at about 3.30pm (a very bad time) the queue for the exhibition was so long! We visited the permanent exhibitions and at 6 pm there was no queue. We were disappointed at the Matisse exhibition, there were not many paintings and we were out in 40 minutes - luckily: I was in time to take a photo of the beautiful sunset behind the Eiffel Tower.
This is a reconstruction of a room in the Elysée palace which was commissioned by Pompidou, who with his wife, loved modern art. It is by Yaacov Agam (b. 1928) an Israeli sculptor and experimental artist best known for his contributions to optical and kinetic art - amazing!

WINTER WHEAT - blé d'hiver
By carolweb on Saturday, November 5 2011,
The winter wheat is growing (pousse), and well watered (arrosé) with the wether we're having! two days of rain, the weekend of course. Next week I hope it will be fine because I'm going to Paris. When it's not good weather I can't take any photos.
This was the day before the rain, in spite of the saying (dicton) that says an orange sunset means fine weather the following day. We have some beautiful skies at the moment.

THE TREE 3
By carolweb on Tuesday, January 4 2011,
The sunsets (coucher de soleil) behind the lollipop (sucette) tree are becoming more and more (de plus en plus) dramatic.
This one was more golden. I'm going to be a specialist on lollipop sunsets soon I must have 20 photos already (déjà), but I'll have to (je devrai) select the best ones and delete (supprimer) the others.
Just imagine: sunsets like these just outside my door! The sun sets nearly directly south at the moment; we have just started to regain 1 minute of sunshine a day and the sunset is going to move further and further west (de plus en plus vers l'ouest). So it will not be behind the lollipop and in fact, I won't be able to (je ne pourrai pas) see it at all (du tout), it will be hidden (il sera caché) behind the trees.

TREES
By carolweb on Friday, December 3 2010,
Yes, I've been out with my camera to photograph trees again. Why not? I like trees and they're easier to photograph in winter, they make beautiful silhouettes.
This one's beautiful, isn't it? Pity (dommage) there's the ribbon just in front - well, everything can't be perfect, it proves that I took it:)
This one's behind my house - a linden tree (un tilleul), in Spring covered with fragrant flowers used to make herbal tea.
THE tree 2. I'm taking advantage of the position of the setting sun behind the tree, and the beautiful clear skies and I'm going tp take a series, so here goes! You're going to see more and more trees! Just a moment, rain is forecasted (prévue) for tomorrow. Well, so what? I'll take a photo of THE tree in the rain!
