Mist this morning in the garden, the spiders had been busy all night,(avaient été occupé toute la nuit) on the lawn (la pelouse), on the bushes (les buissons), everywhere. Usually there are invisible, but minute drops betrayed their presence.
The tiniest seeds (les graines les plus minuscules) were visible on the lawn:
And this evening there was a dramatic sky - sign of rain for tomorrow?

EVENING SKY
By carolweb on Tuesday, July 20 2010,
9h30pm today, this is what the sky looked like. It had been beautiful weather all day, sunny and hot, but storms are forecast (prévus) for tomorrow, you can see them already. The sky looks menacing and the temperature has dropped considerably: now it's only 20°! Just imagine! It's still 35° in AVIGNON. So after a week of good weather it's going to rain tomorrow. Well at least (au moins) the garden will be happy, it's very dry (sec), the plants are thirsty (ont soif).
Today's philosphical thought? Enjoy the sun while it lasts (pendant que cela dure), you never know what's coming tomorrow!

GRAPEVINES
By carolweb on Monday, June 21 2010,
Ah yes! It's working again!
My photos today are from the vineyards just behind my house, on the first day of summer - and at last with summer weather.
The title of the first photo is "Reaching for the sky".
The second photo is called "Hanging on".
At the top of the plants the stems (les tiges) and the tendrils reach out (s'étendent) looking for something to hang on to (pour s'accorcher). Lower down (plus bas) they have found wires (des fils) and immediately turn and turn round them.
The grapes are there already (déjà) too, full of promise for this year's wine.
