No entries for a week!
I've been very busy (j'ai été très occupée) with my family. My daughter and grandson - 3 and a half years old - are here on holiday and all the family came for lunch at the weekend. Lots of cooking (cuisine) to do. And what did we have for dessert? Plum tart of course. There are lots of apples ripe (mures) also at the moment, so I'll have to make apple tart next time, tarte tatin perhaps.
These are English cooking apples called Bramleys, they are not sweet (sucré), they are specially for apple sauce to eat with meat; they're delicious with black pudding (boudin). My daughter brought me a small tree from England, it has grown (il a poussé) and this year it has lovely big green apples.

BUSY - occupée
By carolweb on Friday, August 6 2010,
I was very busy today: apart from the usual shopping, cooking, eating, washing up, I also did dressmaking (la couture).
I made myself a blue and white dress (une robe) with some African material (tissu). The dress is very simple, just straight up and down (droit) as the pattern (le motif) is very complicated but very effective and dramatic.
In the photo you can see the sewing machine, scissors, pins and a reel (une bobine) of white cotton, and the blue and white dress material of course. I was very pleased with the result and put it on immediately.
