  • MAIZE - Oh,no! here it comes: the maize that's going to block my view. READ PREVIOUS ENTRY The grains were planted on the 9th April and the field is already green, it grows quickly with all the chemical fertilizer (engrais)! I think I'm going to measure how much it grows in 24 hours, with rain or without ()

  • PARIS - MOSQUE - This is the minaret of the GRAND MOSQUE IN PARIS, we went on a guided visit and it was very interesting. The arabian architecture is beautiful: the walls covered with coloured tiles and the decorated arches. It is obviously very different from everything else in Paris. This is what the building ()

  • THEATRE - When we go to Paris we go to the theatre every evening; we buy our tickets half price at the kiosk. Last week I loved the play adapted from the book by Katarina Mazetti "Le mec de la tombe d'à côté". It was about the shock of culture differences, a couple with nothing in common who end up in love. • PARIS - Well, I HAVE to photograph the Eiffel Tower every time I go, it's always different. This photo is taken through the wall of the Quai Branly museum. • Summer today - The weather was beautiful today, hot and sunny with no cold wind like the other days. The swimming pool in the garden is now open after 6 months under a green cover. The water is clean, clear and blue. Fortunately I didn't find anything like this in it! It looks like a jellyfish, doesn't it? It's ()

  • Peach flower - A little softness after all these hard angles and corners; it's a long time since I uploaded a flower, so here is a peach flower growing in my garden: I have 6 peach trees, I hope the flowers will develop into peaches then in July I'll be able to make peach jam (confiture). Last year I made some and ()

  • Orange - Redbubble again: this photo I put in the challenge Orange in the group "Colour me a rainbow" (un arc en ciel). I like the vibrant colours again and the modern clear shapes. I think it would be great if it was enlarged to poster size. I photographed it on the side of a bus. Imagine all the bus ()

  • Dripping blood / Sang qui coule - I saw these big urns in my local garden centre, the vivid red paint running down looks like blood (du sang). They're very impressive and I love the colours but I don't know if I'd like them on my terrace, they're a bit gory. I didnt look at the price, but they're probably expensive. Here's ()

  • The mole - No, it's not alive, It's dead! I was sitting outside eating my dessert and a friend came with this little mole in a plastic bag! I wanted to take a photo of it, so I put it on a molehill - I have lots on my lawn. They love my lawn, but of course I don't usually see the moles, they just tunnel ()

  • Featured! Choisie! - Hooray again! Today a photo is featured in the Urban Macro Art group, the group I admire so much! Not one of my favourite photos - I showed you mine last week - but the hosts of the group liked it enough to pick it out and show it (link at bottom of page). I am so proud, and it's so encouraging. The ()

  • Won! Gagné! - Hooray!! Today I won a challenge in the redbubble group "Twelve Great Features" with a photo beginning with the letter "N". The title is "Newspapers". OK, it's not a brilliant photo, and I only got 4 votes, and there were only 10 entries out of 864 members, and the letter N is not easy in ()

  • My horizon - This photo's quite different, but it has a story. "A tractor,", I hear you say. Yes, but you didn't look far enough (assez loin), the title is 'My Horizon'. This is the view I have from my house, I can see the horizon and it's very important for me, I need space, I need to see. I bought this house ()

  • Rusty skip : benne rouillée - Today I just had to return to the rusty skip to see it again and take more photos; this time I got very near and took some close-ups. Unbelievable!, No? It look like a curious creature in the sea being attacked by a smaller one, doesn't it? My title for this one is "Leave me alone!" (Laisse-moi ()

  • Radishes and abstract art - I just couldn't resist this photo from the local supermarket, what vibrant colours! I didn't buy any, I didn't notice the price and I didn't read where they came from. But I looked on Internet to find the nutritional value of a radish! No value you think? Well, read this: Nutrition Facts and ()

I love this site: there are hundreds of themed groups for all different subjects that organise challenges. I enjoy competing in the challenges and seeing other people's work. It's a site in English and most people ()

  • Today's macro - Yesterday it was my first ever macro, this is my latest, from my garden. These are cherry flowers and the tree is covered with them. I hope there will be lots of cherries also so I can make lots of jam. I love cherry jam. I also love clafoutis. Here is the recipe: Butter a dish, fill with cherries; ()

  • My first macro - This is an artichoke flower from my neighbour's garden. I was very lucky to get the photo, she usually eats them before they flower! In 2006 I bought a digital camera which can take macro photos: a Samsung Digimax i6 and I'm really enjoying it. This was my first photo and I think it's beautiful, the ()
