This evening I watched an interesting programme on the TV about Paris from the rooftops (des toits) and it made me remember the times (les fois) that I have seen Paris like this (comme ceci). Not from the Eiffel Tower but from the Montparnasse Tower, the Sacré Coeur, Beaubourg or even from the top of the Samaritaine or le Printemps; it is fascinating. You can stand and look for hours. Of course it it completely different from my view at home, where I don't even have a first storey (étage): my house is just ground level (rez de chaussée)! I can't look down, I can only look up.

This is from the top of Beaubourg.

This one from the top of Le Printemps where there is a snackbar. Le Printemps is a large department store (un grand magasin) so you have to go up the escalators to the seventh floor and there you have a snackbar with a terrace on the roof top - amazing!
