This evening, at nearly nine o'clock, I went to Talmont, a picturesque little village on the Gironde estuary. The sun was going down (descendait) and the full moon was coming up (montait), opposite each other.

It was beautiful; my camera's not very good when there isn't much light (lumière), but I still like my photos.
TALMONT] is a promontory, on the west side is the estuary and on the east side is a small bay. 20 years ago (il y a 20 ans) the grass (l'herbe) you can see was covered with water at high tide (à marée haute). After another 2O years there will be no water at all (pas du tout). This Charentais coast changes a lot.
BROUAGE where Champlain left from to "discover" Quebec, is now 3 kilometres from the sea.

Cultivated land or marshes have replaced the sea water.
