  • DRAWINGS - I have found the drawings of Caroline, my daughter, the mother of my grandson and they are a lot more "advanced"! You can easily recognized figures (des bonshommes), they have eyes, noses, ears, mouths and even some hair! It looks like she was very advanced for 3 years 2 months, compare her drawing ()

  • PINK - rose - The COLOUR ME A RAINBOW has the challenge pink and it's my PINK WALL that is the avatar. I'm so proud. But that means I have to find another photo to enter the challenge. I went to the local supermarket with my camera and....I took two very original superb photos, I am very pleased with myself. I ()

  • TEA FLOWER - I discovered something extraordinary today that I had never seen before (que je n'avais jamais vu auparavent). The photo's not very good, but it was difficult to take. What you can see is in hot water. Well, it's a tea flower! At the beginning it's a tiny round brown ball; you put it in hot water ()

  • MOULD AGAIN - moisissure - Mould AGAIN, look, it's fascinating! This time on a tomato, hence (d'où) the red background. It would be better if I ate them before they became mouldy! Tomatoes are horrible these days (de nos jours), they have no taste at all, they're just wet (mouillées). I can't grow them in my garden - I've ()

  • A DRAWING - un dessin - Something different: It's a drawing (un dessin) by my grandson who is three years old! What is it? I've no idea; I'll have to ask him. At least he occupies all the space; there are circles (des ronds) and lines (des traits) that go up and down and he has chosen the colour red. But perhaps I've got ()

  • AFTER THE RAIN - The weather forecast (les prévisions météo) were right, this morning it rained. Not a lot unfortunately, not enough (pas assez) to water the plants, just enough to leave drops every where. The convolvulus had time to turn its head down. And the tall feathery fennel (fenouil) was covered with drops. ()

  • EVENING SKY - 9h30pm today, this is what the sky looked like. It had been beautiful weather all day, sunny and hot, but storms are forecast (prévus) for tomorrow, you can see them already. The sky looks menacing and the temperature has dropped considerably: now it's only 20°! Just imagine! It's still 35° in ()

  • DREAMS - Beautiful, no? What do you think it is? Well, it's mould (moississure) on a fig! Nature makes some beautiful things, you just need eyes to see and time to look. That's today's philosphical thought (pensée)! ()

  • PLUM TEARS - larmes de prune - Tears (des larmes), What has pierced the plum to make it cry (pleurer)? I think tomorrow I'm going to try and cut open the plum to see what the explanation is. ()

  • SWALLOWS AGAIN - Oh dear! How stupid I feel with my photo of four swallows! Look at the photo I saw on REDBUBBLE today! The artist says they migrate from Australia to Europe, but European swallows migrate to South Africa, LOOK HERE. I will have to look up on the net about Australian swallows. In fact they are called ()

  • SWALLOWS - hirondelles - Swallows are one of my favourite birds; when they arrive it means spring is here. The skies are full of chatter (bavardage) and they love diving (plonger) and drinking in my pool. 12 years ago there were 8 couples in my hamlet, now there are only 2! Swallows eat insects but there are less (moins ()

  • SUNFLOWERS - There are lots of fields (des champs) like this near me at the moment; they're beautiful. Sunflowers are an incredible flower, they're so big and tall. Here they are used to produce oil for cooking. What a pity they're not in the field next to my garden instead of THE MAIZE! ()

  • AVIGNON - "Sur le pont d'Avignon, on y danse, on y danse...." Here it is, the famous bridge; small isn't it? I went and danced on it one year with my daughter. But in Avignon during the theatre festival, nobody looks at the bridge, they're all in the air-conditionned(climatisés) theatres or in the stifling ()

  • ENTRY SIXTY - Sixty entries already (déjà)! And this photo to say tomorrow I'm driving down to Avignon to go to the theatre festival, so there'll be no entries for 5-6 days. I love Avignon festival: the ambience is so special, the town is full of theatre-going people, the walls are covered with posters. The only ()

  • SEEDS - graines - Three minute seeds caught on their way to freedom (trois graines minuscules retenues en chemin pour la liberté). The plants are weeds (de mauvaises herbes), 1m50 tall, with small yellow flowers. Who would imagine such a tall plant would grow from such a minute seed? ()

  • NO HORIZON - Remember THE ENTRY with a photo of a tractor where I explained my horizon was going to disappear? Well, the maize has gradually grown and as predicted, my horizon has disappeared. This is what it was like before: I am now closed in (renfermée) for 4 months until the end of October when they cut the ()

  • STEAMROLLER - rouleau compresseur - What is this? The Extreme Close-ups group has a challenge for TRANSPORT - anything as long as you can ride in it or on it (n-importe quoi pourvu qu'on puisse monter dedans ou dessus) - and I had the chance of having a steamroller (rouleau compresseur) in my garden finishing the new drive (entréé de ()

  • PACKAGEING PROTEST - I just couldn't resist using my camera to testify to this cheating (tricherie)! Just look at the size of the packet compared to the contents!! That is just unbelievable (incroyable)!! And I am the stupid person who bought it. I could have made it myself (j'aurais pu le faire moi-même) for next to ()

  • HOLLYHOCK - rose trémière - A hollyhock (rose trémière) with the sun shining through. Hollyhocks are beautiful tall flowers that love growing along the pavement (le trottoir) and there are lots in the Ile de Ré in Charente Maritime, France. I only have a few in my garden unfortunately (malheureusement), they don't like it ()
